Music isn't even just memories, it is an experience that connects us to the unconscious and can tell us about ourselves, if we don't try to analyze it with our ego. If we can actively listen, it can connect us to part of ourselves we didn't even know, our archetypes, our shadows and beyond. We can use it to meditate, lose ourselves in time and space, connect to an emotion deeply buried in our psyches, to dream something forward, it connects us to our roots our ancestors and to each other. Whom doesn't like music can't connect to those parts of themselves because they can't bear the tension or dissonance, essential for understanding ourselves, it is to bear the unbearable like a reggaeton track on loop.

I wholeheartedly agree I love music it's like a heartbeat. It's like a time capsule that can take you to any given moment at any time and stir up that exact same emotion. I grew up on music my Dad was is a sound in 70's when we were younger we were woken up by music in the morning, and yes my Dad was the typical Jamacian that would pick us up from school and the whole maths block would know. I can't go a day without listening to music I'd go as far as to say it's one of my love language's!!! My first girls trip was 2 Napa in 2000 peak timing!! and the intro 2 Wookie Battle gets me everytime

I would say songs from years where I had big transitions in life. Music grounded me through, so whether it was going to middle school, high school, college, moving across the US, or pushing through a breakup. There are songs that helped me ground myself.

Reminds me of the feelings I had when I watched; Alive Inside the documentary about music, Alzheimer's and memory. Not sure how people don't "get into music" and not sure if I'll ever understand that, but the insight I've gained from questioning why has just strengthened my case for music 🎵🌟

To have so many memories and moments tied to songs feels like a vital part of the human experience… I will never understand living any other way.
