Powering through pages on my next book, makes pulling together three songs for you handsome lot a much welcome break.

That being said, the lack of distraction is proving surprisingly helpful in what can only be described as the ‘stop pratting around and get it done’ phase of the creative process.

This week, we’re starting with a classic. Reset Day one’s know I have a thing for playlists with super specific names, all built for hyper specific moods. So, it should come as no surprise that my ‘Uncles Beach Club’ playlist has been in heavy rotation, largely due to the summer showing up a likkle piece…

We’re starting with a track that should you wish to purchase, you’ll have to shell out around £500 given its rarity. Taken from one of their three self-pressed 45s toward the end of the 70s, one could argue this was their peak. Issa banga.

Now for something new. Podcast fans will know Rory. Colours fans will remember that 70 million views performance from Masego. Crud fans should know Freddie well. Put em’ together, what do you get?

Lastly something recent that has remained in heavy rotation since its 2024 release. Getting that much deserved bump off a deluxe release this year, Maverick Sabre’s ‘Burn The Right Thing Down’ album strikes a much more melancholic tone, but still manages to show off a voice filed under undeniable. ‘Heaven’ is a stand out and a reminder as to why Maverick really is that guy.
