WHO SAID GOOD MUSIC WAS DEAD?

Remember being made to share your toys? Remember that grown up telling you that you’re learning a ‘life lesson’, a skill you’ll need in later life? I can confirm sharing is bullshit. It’s healthy, it’s necessary… but it’s bullshit. Last week Wednesday I shared, and I’m still nursing the wounds.

Last week, I passed the Aux to Maverick Sabre and he only went and pulled a three song masterclass in curation. As I said, sharing your toys is bullshit.

Back at the wheel, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss delivering my three song pit stop to your regular scheduled playlist. Six weeks in, and this Midweek Music thing will never get old… Feels good to get that Aux cord back.

Every now and again, a London MC raises their head above the pack with the minerals to do things a little differently. Proph is exactly that. A sharp pen, the ability to bar and sing. I’m in. Thirteen songs make up ‘Hurt Is The New Sexy’, his latest project which Spotify is calling an album, I’m calling it a coming of age. You can hear the experimentation, but more importantly, the graduation. Excited to hear what he does next… Thornton Heath, you got one.
